INERCHEM is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the development, review and optimisation of process solutions for desalination and water-treatment projects. The role covers design verification, process calculations, commissioning support, performance testing and operational optimisation from engineering through reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, hydraulic profiles and equipment datasheets.
  • Prepare and verify process calculations, equipment sizing, operating philosophies and technical specifications.
  • Review vendor documentation and confirm compliance with project process requirements.
  • Support HAZOP, design reviews, constructability reviews and technical-interface resolution.
  • Develop commissioning, start-up and performance-test procedures for process systems.
  • Support plant commissioning, process tuning, chemical dosing optimisation and troubleshooting.
  • Analyse operating data and identify opportunities to improve capacity, quality, energy efficiency and reliability.
  • Coordinate with engineering, commissioning, operations, vendors and client representatives.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, calculations, recommendations and close-out records.
  • Ensure process activities comply with applicable standards, project requirements and HSE procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in water-treatment or desalination projects.
  • Strong knowledge of reverse osmosis, pretreatment, membrane filtration, chemical dosing and post-treatment systems.
  • Experience with process calculations, P&IDs, equipment specifications and technical documentation.
  • Practical experience supporting commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting and performance testing.
  • Strong analytical, coordination and technical-reporting capabilities.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • Availability for international assignments and site support when required.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with large-scale seawater reverse-osmosis plants.
  • Knowledge of UF, DAF, multimedia filtration, remineralisation and energy-recovery systems.
  • Experience with process simulation, hydraulic calculations and plant data analysis.
  • Previous experience in multidisciplinary international project teams.
